Max Mara is planning to present its resort 2025 collection with a fashion show in Venice on June 11. A huge movie screen backdropped the set with a black-and-white film roll countdown kicking off proceedings shortly after Snoop Dogg took his seat, then playing B-roll clips of Alma Jodorowsky doing aerobics in Chanel, interspersed with scenic shots of palm trees.
It felt like Viard was letting her hair down for the first time, stacking on shiny bangles and plenty of bags, and with them, a brand new attitude entered the room. The typical Hollywood golds and blacks didn't make their way into the collection til the very end, with a more mature ending of wrap dresses and embroidered tweed jumpsuits that didn't sacrifice glamour or camp. For their resort 2024 show, they stayed on the west coast to present a Venice-meets-Left Bank collection that relied less on stereotypical "Hollywood" aesthetics and more on capital-f Fun. A range of cheeky motifs — some literally, some figuratively — appeared on various pieces including palm trees, gold squares, black and gold chevrons, disco balls, milkshakes, roller skates, and sunsets with accessories featuring rhinestones, ombré shading, and metallic leathers. Crafted from buttery leather, canvas, shearling, or various exotic skins, the crossbody boasts a streamlined shape and the brand’s famous double-C logo.

Influencer and Summer Fridays founder Marianna Hewitt also captured content for her 1.1 million Instagram followers — turning the camera on newlywed Sofia Richie, who wore multiple Chanel looks for her recent wedding to music exec Elliot Grainge in the South of France.
Between the cabanas and two-tone striped parasols, the red deckchairs responded to the silhouettes of this collection combining the worlds of motor racing and tennis with those of the Monte Carlo ballet, the casino and the Riviera. “Between a tribute to the glamor of great film stars and evoking the world of fun to be had with aerobics, sports and roller skating,” Viard says, describing the collection in the show notes. “Between the dream on one hand and what you want to wear on the other, it's all a question of balance.” Translation? In Hollywood, starlets go from an afternoon hike in Runyon to a red carpet — and Chanel is here to offer women something to wear for both. Beyond its partnerships with leading ladies, the brand’s Hollywood history dates back to its founder Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel’s collaboration with studio head Samuel Goldwyn’s on costumes for various United Artists films in 1931 including Mervyn LeRoy’s Tonight or Never, in which Chanel was tasked with designing actress Gloria Swanson’s wardrobe. Later came the kind of blazers and coats you wouldn’t usually expect to need on the west coast (but which would have come in handy of late), as well as a slew of black evening gowns, feathered skirts, and embellished two pieces, such as the one British model Adwoa Aboah — the epitome of cool — wore.
Another bag born of the crescent trend, Valentino’s VLogo Hobo stands out among the rest of its moon-shaped kin. The footwear even included block heeled sandals with light-up heels, making sure each girl had a personal spotlight. Every LA girl we know and love, from the Santa Monica skater girl to the Barbie-core Rodeo Drive princess, was present, with Viard casting her net from the PCH to Sunset Boulevard.

Overnight parking costs $17 per day, but we recommend pre-booking your spot, as you can save money and guarantee you will have a parking space. The parking lot is patrolled overnight by port police, so it is a safe location to leave your vehicle. The Port of Charleston consists of six terminals scattered throughout the city, but only a single terminal, Union Pier Terminal, handles cruise ship operations. Those options range from the main dining room to the Lido buffet, Guy's Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina.
Even though Charleston gets plenty of springtime rain, showers are usually brief, so you can still enjoy exploring the city and everything it has to offer. Ridesharing services, particularly Uber and Lyft cars, are also becoming a popular and affordable alternative. Although there are limited shuttle services, the city has plenty of public buses operating in its downtown core, which can help you save a bit of money while you explore.
